Another Man's WifeDrama Queen
by LaJill Hunt

She is beautiful beyond imagination, has personality plus and possess a smile able to disarm all the personnel guarding the gold at Ft. Knox. Whether it’s glitz, glamour or buzz “she can’t win for losing”…so says author LaJill Hunt in describing her heroine in the debut novel, DRAMA QUEEN. Kayla Hopkins’ flair for the dramatic is drawn out in this fast-paced novel of infidelity, lies and broken promises. Never ending turmoil is apropos for all that Kayla stands for as this page-turning delight centers on what makes a drama queen stand out. To wit: We have a situation where fiancée find the liking not to his benefit and bails; She becomes involved with a married man; And, on a night of pure passion and unprotected sex end up pregnant. All of the above prove to be a burden as long as she keeps things closed without counsel from friends and family. Confiding in her father and coping with family issues against the advancing signs of motherhood only add to the mix for mayhem.

Check out Geno, who is separated from Kayla for more than a year. A year where Kayla gets in more than a little bit of trouble. Craig, full of lies and betrayals sets out to have his cake and eat it too! Then there’s the sibling who gives more than just sisterly advice. In the end, Kayla finds a way to see the bigger picture in realizing who is in her corner for the long run.

The author’s potential for character development enhancement will be evident as she gain experience in her writing career. In this story the supporting cast members are a bit shallow and predictable and could use a bit more definition. I feel that this book keeps true to form for the type of story that is running rampart in telling one woman’s need to prevail. If you are a true fan of street fiction, then this urban tale would prove to be a page-turning delight for you.
